Easthampton, Massachusetts – We would like to congratulate Alexandra Chapman on her successful transition from interning in the Commercial Credit Department to accepting a position as a Commercial Credit Assistant. Alex is currently pursuing both her Bachelor’s in Business Administration and an MBA in Financial Management from Husson University.

This summer, a total of four interns completed the bankESB Internship Program, with Alex being our only internal participant. During Alex’s internship, her responsibilities included processing financial information, spreading financial statements into the Bank’s system for further analysis, and helping with various projects to update and maintain the database.

“Since Alex is working towards completing her degrees, she shows an obvious interest in the field of finance. She came to us with branch banking experience, but the Internship Program has allowed her to focus on the area of commercial lending and gain direct experience in her chosen field. Additionally, the Bank has been able to fill a needed job function in our department with a well-qualified candidate. It’s definitely a win-win,” said Robert Wheten, Vice President and Commercial Credit Officer.

Alex added, “The Internship Program has given me an opportunity to get hands-on experience alongside a great group of people in the department.” As a Commercial Credit Assistant, Alex will be performing a variety of commercial loan administrative and analytical functions.

“We are thrilled to have achieved the objective of the Internship Program, which is to allow employees the opportunity to explore other areas of the Bank and, in some cases, create a more permanent opportunity in the host department depending on business need,” said Bozena Dabek, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.

Alex was hired in February of 2019 as a Part Time Teller in our Locust Street Branch and started the program in June.
