EASTHAMPTON, MASSACHUSETTS — bankESB’s Amherst branch staff recently surprised five area non-profit organizations with charitable donations totaling $10,000. Dubbed the “Giveaway Gang” and led by Amherst office Assistant Vice President and Branch Officer Jessica West, the staff visited five area non-profits over five weeks and presented checks in the amount of $2,000 to each.
Branch staff selected four of the recipient organizations from among those who provide critical and valuable services to residents in the communities surrounding the new branch. The bank then allowed its followers on Facebook to select the fifth recipient.
“The residents and businesses in Amherst have warmly welcomed our branch to the neighborhood and have made our first few months such a success,” said West. “We wanted to give back to the communities we serve in a big way by helping these organizations who exist to help others. And we had a lot of fun surprising them!” she said.
bankESB provided the donations to Craig’s Doors, the Hospice of the Fisher Home, the Amherst Boys and Girls Club, CHD’s Not Bread Alone, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County.
